Low MOQ Clothing Manufacturer for Small-Batch Runs
Most factories are optimised for volume. We are set up so a brand can start small: a trial run from about 50 pieces per style, sampling commissioned on its own, and bulk only on the styles that prove themselves.
- ~50 pcsper style is a workable first run, style dependent
- Sampling onlydevelopment can be ordered without bulk production
- Fee creditedsampling fees can be credited against a bulk order
- 1 patternper run, whatever the quantity
Why small brands get turned away — and what we do differently
LOW MOQ, EXPLAINEDMinimum order quantities exist because switching a line to a new style costs a factory time. The usual answer is a high MOQ, which pushes inventory risk onto you: you buy depth before you know whether the style sells.
Our approach is the opposite. A small-batch trial from around 50 pieces per style puts the style in front of real customers first. Only the styles that sell get scaled up; nothing is stock-piled on a hunch.
Sampling can be commissioned separately, so a season of development does not have to commit to a season of production. And when a bulk order follows, the sampling fee can be credited against the invoice — the development you paid for is not wasted.
Small batch, same standards
NO SHORTCUTS ON QUALITYOne pattern per run
The pattern is not re-drawn because the order is small. Whatever the quantity, the run is cut to the approved pattern and the approved sample.
Same fabrics and trims
We source the same qualities for 50 pieces as for 5,000, with swatches approved before the bulk fabric order whichever size the order is.
Same operations
Full finishing, pressing, in-line and final inspection, and packing to your labels. Small runs are not asked to skip steps.
A practical sequence for a first order
FIRST-ORDER ROADMAPSend the style
Sketch, tech pack, mood board or reference garment. We review it and quote pattern-making and the first sample.
Sample and revise
Approve the fit, fabric and workmanship. This is where a small brand sets its quality, so revise until it is right.
Trial run
Order around 50 pieces per style, cut to the approved sample, with your labels and packaging.
Scale what sells
Sell first, then reorder the winners in depth, and add new styles with the same trial logic.
Questions buyers ask before ordering
FAQWhat is the smallest order you accept?
A small-batch trial can start from around 50 pieces per style, depending on the style, fabric and workmanship. If your first run needs to be smaller than that, talk to us — sampling-only orders are also possible.
Do you charge more per piece for small orders?
Unit cost is quoted per style and reflects the reality of a small run: cutting, setting up the line and trims carry fixed costs regardless of quantity. What we do not do is add hidden minimums or push you to buy depth you cannot sell — the quotation states what is included.
Can I order a sample without any bulk order?
Yes. Development and sampling can be commissioned on their own. Many clients build a season of samples first and place production later.
Is the sampling fee credited against bulk?
When a bulk order is confirmed, the sampling fee can be credited against the invoice at a percentage agreed on the quotation.
Can you produce several styles in one small order?
Yes — a first order can cover a small range rather than one style in depth. Send the styles together and we quote them by style, with a suggested sequence so the schedule stays realistic.
How do I know quality holds when I order more later?
The approved pre-production sample is the standard for every run, small or large, and one pattern is used per production run. When you scale up, the goods are made to the sample you already approved.
Where can I buy wholesale clothing for resale?
If you are stocking a shop or an online store, you do not have to buy from a stock wholesaler first — we supply wholesale quantities straight from the factory floor. A first run can start from about 50 pieces per style, several styles can go in one order, and the styles that sell can be reordered in depth. Everything is made to your sizing and carries your label, rather than being pulled from existing stock.
What is an MOQ in manufacturing?
MOQ stands for minimum order quantity — the smallest number of pieces a factory will produce per style. At LIUYU a small-batch trial order starts from around 50 pieces per style; the exact figure depends on the style, fabric and craftsmanship. There is no separate wholesale tier to reach before we will quote you.
How long does a small order take to produce?
First samples take about 3–5 days. Bulk production runs about 10–20 days depending on style complexity and quantity, and the schedule is locked once the pre-production sample is approved. Threads and trims are counted in, so build the calendar backwards from your selling season.
Can I order several styles in bulk instead of one style in depth?
Yes. A first order can cover a small range of styles rather than one style in depth. Send the styles together and we quote them by style, with a suggested production sequence so the schedule stays realistic.
